Just don't Think about it!

Are you stuck in your head?

There's that voice again. Or multiple voices.
We put so much focus on thought, mindsets and methodologies that the tend to not focus on ACTING. Not the Hollywood type of acting, but the actions we make in day to day to life. The actions that create reactions. The actions that give us a sense of determination or purpose.

Sometimes we think of an action before we act it out. This is good, but we can get caught up in our own heads. We lose the spontaneity and jazz of it all. What if we have it the other way around? Think about it. Well, actually don't. Bear with me here.

When we feel sad or depressed, what are we doing? Are we paying attention to what is around us or what our body is feeling? Are we quick to try to correct our poisonous cycle of thoughts with another slightly more positive cycle of thought? These cycles of thought may make us feel differently, but they really only are temporary and act under the same neural circuitry.

Is observing enough? If we simply observe how thought can make things confusing and unclear, isn't that an adequate action? When we separate ourselves from action and not in tune with the actual action, we create division and conflict. What's the rush? Sometimes we try to move so fast towards a solution that we forget what the problem was in the first place. Most of the time we ignore the root of the problem and move so quick to resolve what we THINK is wrong.

What is taking so much space in your head? Are you just getting in your own way?

What happens when we think too much? We get caught up in it. We get caught up in the compulsory nature of thought because we IDENTIFY with what is happening. We try to insert the image of who we think we are in it. We throw things off course rather than stepping back and observing what is happening. The main problem is that we create the problems. Then we like to create solutions to those problems. It doesn't end there. That creates a whole new set of problems. We are really unconsciously gravitating towards security and comfort. Sometimes the problems we create are an impedance to what we WANT to feel. So what have we been taught? Take this pill. Be resilient. Use willpower. Figure it out. But why are we trying to find solutions when we most of the time don't know why the problem is there or created in the first place? Take a step back. Breathe for God's sake.

Here's a thought. (Oh, the irony.) Don't think about it. Look at it. See that wheel of thought whirl. It's not as intense when you don't interact with it. The problem is the separation. The thought of it all. The attempt to solve or get rid of it only makes it stronger. What you resist persists.

"What am I suppose to do just sit there?"

No.

It's not as simple as that, but it is quite simple once you actually start looking at it.
It requires the ability to see without solving. To watch the unfolding. You can look at the window or close your eyes. There are no specific instructions. Do you see now? Thinking happens. A thought pops up in our head without our control. Why does this happen? Well, don't think about it. When a moment arises with a supposed "problem", stop and look. Quit seeking the answer. ( Observe the inner workings. ) With this sense of choice-less awareness, you can act when it is the time. You act without the need for an impeding thought or methodology. You act with what needs to be done. Without question. It may be a so called "Leap of Faith", but it is with the totality of presence. No division.

It's like that cheesy sports slogan. "Be the Ball."
Separating from action or thinking about doing something is the act of separation which creates division and conflict.

There's some truth in all this. It's about aligning with the action of what needs to get done without resistance, willpower or effort. All of these are illusory. If you can be with your body and the movement of your mind, you can feel and act without any type of hurdle. That's the word. Movement. Movement without the need for thought or ideas. A new sense of aliveness and awareness arises when you align with what is and what should be done a "certain way".

Move with what happens. Just move.

It's not how you think it is going to do down. It's not the way you do it. It's being present for the action. When you answer the call, you perform the necessity of the action without question, resistance or doubt. Sometimes it takes that "leap" into the unknown for growth to happen. When we think, or when we identify with thought rather, we separate, distort and manifest thoughts based on our own past conditioning. Do you see?

The separateness is the illusion.
Be with the process, not apart or a part from it.
