An Open Letter To Santa Deniers
An open letter to Santa Deniers
To Who it May Concern amidst this Holiest and most Festive time of year,It's the most wonderful time of the year. Cold winter air and cheer. There's a warmth and a festive resonance in the atmosphere. The eating, drinking and being merry is such a wonderful trio during this Christmas season. What more could you ask for? ( maybe that one BIG present and another egg nog, but who is counting?)
Jolly St. Nick is one of thematic archetypes taking up space in this momentous holiday window of time. Santa is full of cheer, love, warmth and generosity. He entices us with his Ho Ho Hos and begs us to really take a moment and enjoy the festivities around us. He is a projection of the cultural miasma that centers around the focus of gratitude from the beginning to the end of the year. Santa radiates that energy. The energy of appreciation. The energy of celebration. He is the the one that dishes out that gooey holiday feeling.
There is however a growing portion of the population that does not seem to appreciate Santa or even acknowledge his own existence. They hinge their ideology on the skepticism of the big jolly magic man that some us may refer to as the anointed Christmas bearded one. These people are like Scrooge from the lore of the highly popular and noted Christmas fable passed down from generation to generation. These people are Santa Deniers. They refuse to acknowledge the existence of him. They even go out of their way to try to ruin the Christmas cheer by "proving" that he is nothing, but a cultural figure of figment and fantasy. A grand spectacle of illusion, hope and light winter debauchery. They want you to believe that Santa is an empty idol to distract us from the drudgeries and routine of everyday life. How can we deal with these people that try to suck the Christmas spirit out like a mistletoed mosquito in the Florida Everglades? We must take heed, ponder and spread the Christmas cheer.
These Santa Deniers are growing in number because they operate under false information and propaganda. It gives them a sense of purpose when they think they are freeing people from their own self perceived illusions. It's a mass projection of insecurity and imperfection. They want to turn the Ho Ho Hos into chants of Bah Humbug and illusory claims such as "Rudolph is Fake". It's their contrarian nature that makes them feel good about disproving the existence of jolly St. Nick. The man (not so much myth) and the legend that has lit up so many hearts and consumed so many cookies for centuries on end.
They want a war on Christmas. They claim to use logic, reason and evidence to push a narrative that claims to show that Santa never has and never will exist. But most of them don't have much going for them. Where are the pictures? Where is video and physical evidence? In a galactic way he is all around us. He chooses not to come down and meet the people because he is so busy. He is doing and has already done so much to preserve the decadent energy of the Christmas spirit. Their proof is at best just evidence of them not seeing Santa in the flesh. If you truly believe in Santa, you can feel his presence during Christmas season. He lives in every one of us. We Santa believers don't need the cold calculations of data and science to convince us that he "exists". He knows when you are sleeping and knows when you're awake. So what more do you need for goodness sake?
The key is to spread the cheer and not let these Santa deniers get in the way of the Christmas season. We can only love them no matter how ridiculous their actions and ideas are. It's about turning the other candy cane and offering up good tidings and warm cider. Santa deniers will have themselves to celebrate what they want to celebrate, but we cannot act exclusive with our own facts and beliefs of the Red Bearded One. Ask yourself. What would Santa do? Well, he might give these Santa Deniers coal, but it will be only to teach them a hard lesson. He would also probably make them feel good. Santa ain't no jerk. He spreads the cheer to all types of people. Even people that do not believe in him. Even people that thinks he does not exist. Crazy right? But that's the Santa that you and I have grown to know. A compassionate magical figure of peace, cheer and warm holiday vibes.
So if you are a Santa deniers or even Santa agnostic, we hear you. We understand the skepticism. Sometimes the holiday seasons are hard. Sometimes there has been not so warm times and possible trauma. But you and everyone else can learn from it and put your trust in the omnipotent light of Santa Clause. There is plenty of time to put on that festive hat and let Santa in your holiday spirit even if you think that you do not have any spirt to go around. It is in you. It is begging you to surrender to the power of the fat jolly one. A care free surrender to everything possible in the present and the future holidays to come. What will choose? A life of Santa Denial or a life of acceptance that Santa will always be by your side. Well, at least during the holiday season. Seize the Light of Old Saint Nick!
You don't have to necessarily believe that Santa exists, but you can sure act as if he does!
